Meet Dr. Fabu!
Fabu Phillis Carter is a Senior Outreach Specialist with the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and works for the African American and Native American Communities. She is also a poet, columnist, storyteller, and educator who writes under the professional name of Fabu. Madison Poet Laureate (2008-2012), she received her PhD in African Women’s Studies from the University of Nairobi and is an award-winning poet of 7 books. Fabu is affiliated with School of Medicine and Public Health, African Women’s Studies Centre, University of Nairobi, Kenya.
