Meet DC!

Debra Coleman, known as DC, was born and raised in Gary, Indiana. She got into cooking while working at Lee's Chicken Shack with her mom. Unlike average fast food places, they actually cooked every order. When her mom passed away, she lost her passion for cooking. It became an obligation to take care of her daughter. DC’s passion for cooking was restored when she started working at Safe Haven, a day shelter for unhoused people. She wanted to provide them with a good home cooked meal. DC welcomed the challenge of remaking meals from various already cooked food that was donated to the shelter. Her secret ingredient to make her food stand out against the rest is LOVE.
