Meet Alex Booker! Alex is a passionate boutique farmer on a mission to nourish Black food vendors in the Madison area with fresh produce deeply rooted in the diaspora's heritage. For Alex, farming is not merely a profession; it's a profound connection to his ancestral roots in Mississippi, where generations before him cultivated the land. Through his agricultural journey, Alex has discovered the transformative power of working with the roots, both metaphorically and literally. As he lovingly tends to a diverse array of herbs, he witnesses the incredible potency and wisdom that nature's bounty bestows upon us. Beyond the fields, Alex's heart beats for his community, and he fervently believes in the importance of food sovereignty education. By hosting engaging and enlightening gardening workshops, he aims to reignite his community's relationship with their food systems.
